I omitted one piece of excitement from our trip from Tampa to Gasparilla. But since it happened again I guess I better own up to the first one now too.
So tonight was our first overnight passage. We left the ICW around 3pm, crossed under a busy bridge at San Carlos Bay and officially entered the Gulf of Mexico. We could finally set the autopilot as we had entered big water and no longer had to navigate buoys and markers.
I had a few errands to get done before we left the marina. Picked up some parts, returned the rental car and picked up some cash.
So, many of you landlubbers may be wondering, what do you guys do all day? Are you on a year-long vacation or what? Why aren’t you sailing the open seas yet? Let me tell you what a typical day for us looks like, while we are staying at the marina.
After extending our stay at the hotel about four nights we moved onto the boat. Before we could sleep aboard we moved the boat from the boatyard and then sailed to the Harborage Marina.
