A Tour of Marina Del Mar

We arrived here a about ten days ago and have enjoyed every moment we have spent here.  We do hope to keep moving towards the Bahamas after we receive all of our shipments and packages.  We have a broken hatch cover, we did a repair on a toilet valve, we are waiting for pieces of a new anchor and we ordered some cruising guides from Amazon.  We are going to have to get there eventually, as nice as it is to stay put for a little while and feel like you are putting down some roots.  Here are a few pics of the marina and the people that we met.

Joy, from the boat Surreal, orignially from Saskatchewan. She was our surrogate grandma while we here.

Our view from the pool. This is a pet friendly hotel and marina. There are people here from all over the world, Italy, Denmark, France and Scotland. Cool, eh?

Going for a swim. We usually stayed in the pool until our feet and hands were wrinkly. It was fabulous and just the right temperature.

Well, we are having a great time here.  We went for a day sail yesterday, Saturday, with Joy and Dean and Cosmo, of course!  Today we are enjoying a quiet and cooler day at the marina, doing a few little projects and letting the boys have a quiet play day.  We are going to be waiting for another weather window, which means a good wind from the south to carry us across the Gulf Stream.  Otherwise it feels like you are riding in a washing machine; if the current is pushing you in one direction and the wind is pushing from another direction.  So we will continue to enjoy the company and amenities of Marina Del Mar.
