Here are more pics from our time in Bimini

This is the immigration house for the Bahamas. Richard cleared the crew into the country here. To the left is where they take tourists to buy t-shirts.

A typical (higher end) house in Bimini.  Not sure what the “stage” in front is for.

The library. I think if you want a book you just take it, hopefully you return it.

Feeding “Bull Sharks” with the leftovers from a fish. We didn’t swim here because of the abundance of the Bull Sharks.

We dinghy-ed to the island that is only visible at low tide and did some exploring.

This is a baby conch. Everywhere you go you see Conch Salad and Cracked Conch for sale. Piles of conch shells line the shore where fishermen clean their catch.

    • We haven’t eaten the conch yet… Looking at a living conch might have been a mistake. The locals have suggested that we try cracked conch which is conch deep fried. We have a year to work up to conch salad that…

      • Yes, I agree that it might be a bit of a stretch to eat a conch now. But like you say, you’ve got a year! I remember the first time I ate paella in Spain and came across a rubbery piece in the paella – took it out of my mouth to see what it was, and clearly saw the little suckers on one side – it was octopus! That image is fixed in my memory!
