For the last few years the Off Road Adventure Club (ORAC) has done an extreme Wahiba Challenge along the same route. Tone, Amy, John and I headed to the empty quarter to scout an alternate route. The drive was long, the wind howled most of the time and dunes were epic tall!
My second challenge and first as a team leader and driver. I took Leah’s JK because my TJ was in the shop with a blown transmission. I picked it up the day after the challenge almost as good as new… more to come on that.
Tone, John and I went to the Wahiba and crossed from the planned 2018 Wahiba Challenge start point to the mid-point. The beginning of the day was quite challenging with soft sand and a few sand mountains but later in the day we got into a groove and manged to finish before 4:00.
