To Belgium from France and back again… pictures
See both sides… hate brings hate. We ride together on this starship called Earth.
Without much fanfare Belgium.
Ghent is host to beer and food festival every year. There were bands, beer and food stalls everywhere. Unfortunately most of the entertainment starts after bed time so we missed a lot of it. Still it is a unique place to visit and we enjoyed the sights while we were there.
The most intense puppet show I’ve ever seen: Rage against the machine – do what they told ya. A high school hit for me, loud and obnoxious for everyone else in our group. Hats off… the first puppet I’ve ever seen trash a stage!
Cat stuff for our “cat queen” as we like to call her – eh Jen.
A restaurateur taking a break on one of the busiest days of the year.
Not sure what this is about, but everyone paused to look including Ethan and James.
Waiting for our Ghent canal ferry to start. They lured us in with “free” ice creams and umbrellas for the hot sun. We happily ate the ice cream and then semi-patiently waited for the tour to start.
A weather vane…
The end of the road – the canal ends here. In the modern era, transportation of good buy canal doesn’t pay to keep the canals clear for navigation so many of them silt up and die.
The meat market of Ghent, in the past existing partially to ensure high quality and partially to reinforce monopoly on meat in Ghent.
Public restrooms in Ghent – men and boys only please.
The water slide at our campground. The water was a bit cool for the Omani’s but we all went down a bunch of times.
