For our trip to Japan I decided to record the days events using Haikus. Here’s a few:
Late wake up, pizza
palace, blossoms, nude hot tub
great first day Japan
fuji shinjuku
metro express local trains
travelling all day
Cherry Blosom’s. We caught the end of the season in Tokyo and the beginning in Fuji.
Imperial Palace. We could only get into the Garden’s that day but it was a good introduction to the architectural style of a Japanese Castle.
Mike spend’s a ton of time in SAP so running into a SAP building in Japan was a real “treat”.
We ended up in this resturant because I could hear “fun” – laughing and talking. Food was great. A least one other table had too many beers and at least one set of strangers decided to join them after eating their own dinner.
The boys have all out grown Thomas but we ended up on a Thomas themed subway to Fuji so they were forced to pose for this picture.
Lunch on the way to Fuji in a Subway station.
I love talking pictures on escalators. They set everyone for a pose but it’s moving so it’s still a little spontaneous.
This is a Hiroshima Okonomiyaki which is a pasta dish with a savory pancake on top of it. Lots of mayo used.
There were thousands of Japanese people of all ages coming out to the festival. It was as fun people watching as seeing the blossoms.
There was lots of really bad paddling down there.
This is the end of a line that stretched for hundreds of people to go boating. You would have to stand in the line for 4 hours to get a boat. I’m sure some people in the line didn’t even get to go.
