After Prague we took a train back to Munich, switched to a car and then drove south to Füssen to stay on the shore of Forggensee Lake. The hotel had a sauna which we enjoyed nearly everyday followed by a mountain water plunge in the lake and then a re-warm up in the sauna.
I keep looking for Maria to coming walking by singing “the hills are alive”
The view from our room.
The lake is man-made and is used to buffer flood water in the spring. There was a problem with some valves so the level was dropped to effect repairs. Made the walk to the lake edge a lot longer from the sauna… almost didn’t need the swim by the time you got there!
There was no lock. We could have had a nice quiet lunch… instead we took him along.
Rattler! Radler? Leah took an immediate liking to German Rattler’s which are lemonade and beer mixed.
The boys standing in Austria and Germany at the same time.
A nice serious picture with my boys.
This is the lake above a waterfall. I love the “mountain” color of the water.
Standing on the bridge overlooking the Lech Falls. Nice one Matty.
We headed up a mountain with Gondola’s then started hiking to the top. Leah and Ethan decided to return. James and Matty bushwacked their own path.
At the top we found a bunch of people launching parachutes and flying along the ridge at the top of the mountain. Very cool.
Ice Cream before our walk up to Neuschwanstein Castle. Hohenschwangau Castle is in the back.
