We arrived here a about ten days ago and have enjoyed every moment we have spent here. We do hope to keep moving towards the Bahamas after we receive all of our shipments and packages. We have a broken hatch cover, we did a repair on a toilet valve, we are waiting for pieces of a new anchor and we ordered some cruising guides from Amazon. We are going to have to get there eventually, as nice as it is to stay put for a little while and feel like you are putting down some roots. Here are a few pics of the marina and the people that we met.
Joy, from the boat Surreal, originally from Saskatchewan. She was our surrogate grandma while we here.
Joy’s husband Dean, doing a little boat project with the kids watching. The big boys would have regular Sequences games with Dean. Ethan would climb into his lap.
Tom, an Irish triplet, was parked behind Joy and Dean. He also enjoyed having the kids around.
Joy and Dean’s docile dog, Cosmo, petted and picked at by all the boys.
A few properties we snooped at on our dingy ride through the canal.
There were some lovely homes here.
Auntie Ashley, we thought of you! Check out the boat’s name!
The boys got a kick out of this, a snowman made of buoys. We actually circled back around so we could all see it and take pictures!
Our view from the pool. This is a pet friendly hotel and marina. There are people here from all over the world, Italy, Denmark, France and Scotland. Cool, eh?
Hanging out by the pool.
Enjoying the 4pm snack from the hotel lobby. Yum.
Going for a swim. We usually stayed in the pool until our feet and hands were wrinkly. It was fabulous and just the right temperature.
Mattie and Ethan got caught in a rain shower coming back from the pool. Matthew put his towel around Ethan.
Well, we are having a great time here. We went for a day sail yesterday, Saturday, with Joy and Dean and Cosmo, of course! Today we are enjoying a quiet and cooler day at the marina, doing a few little projects and letting the boys have a quiet play day. We are going to be waiting for another weather window, which means a good wind from the south to carry us across the Gulf Stream. Otherwise it feels like you are riding in a washing machine; if the current is pushing you in one direction and the wind is pushing from another direction. So we will continue to enjoy the company and amenities of Marina Del Mar.

I love the boat and this post made me so happy to see how happy you all are! It’s so great to be kept up to date!
Nothing like seeing new sights! And John and I have always said that the best part of travelling is the people you meet along the way.
