We made it to Eleuthera after completing an uneventful passage from Bimini via the Berry Islands. After our dreadful Gulf Stream crossing we were worried we wouldn’t make but better weather and a bit more patience paid off and our trip was a success.
Well, we spent over a week in Bimini, which they call the gateway to the Bahamas.
So, I am not sure how many of you have attempted homeschooling, but our first week sucked!
So tonight was our first overnight passage. We left the ICW around 3pm, crossed under a busy bridge at San Carlos Bay and officially entered the Gulf of Mexico. We could finally set the autopilot as we had entered big water and no longer had to navigate buoys and markers.
Leah got sick the evening before the trip so I got to go on the sailing, snorkeling and whale watching tour. Got up early packed a bag and headed out. Had McDonald’s on the way and headed through Honolulu to Waikiki.
